ATEX; The ATEX directives of the European Union Organizations have been put into effect as of 1 July 2003 and have been revised under the name of the 2014/34/EU regulation as of 20 April 2016. ATEX is a combination of the first syllables of the French words “ATmosphéres EXplosives” and means Explosive Atmospheres. ATEX regulations, which are valid in European Union countries and accepted as a reference in many countries outside of Europe, specify explosive atmospheres, safety precautions and minimum requirements for the equipment used here. Atex Certificate is an international certificate provided to products used in flammable, explosive and easily flammable environments and to the place where their production takes place. It is a directive covering new approaches, such as technical requirements for ex-proof equipment, and has been imperative since 1 July 2003.
